Strangely enough, one of Denver City’s recently popular landmarks is the Denver Airport itself. Other than being a reputable and reasonably good airport to visit, the Denver Airport has received a number of strange urban legends surrounding the building. The Airport has a number of odd statues around the premises such as gargoyles in the baggage area, and a huge blue horse poised rearing up on its hind legs, and the ongoing constructions have sprung up many conspiracy theories by imaginative locals. Denver Airport has taken this into stride with a number of cute public service announcements in a tongue-in-cheek CSI style. When you touch down in Denver Airport, be sure to keep an eye out for these urban legends!

The Denver Airport is not the only place in the city with a penchant for surreal public art sculptures. In fact, when driving around in your car rental, you’re sure to notice that Denver City is studded with sculptures all around town. Marvel at the towering Blue Bear sculpture poised outside of the Colorado Convention Center. Done in a contemporary low poly art style, the bear leans peering its massive blue head into the Convention Center, keeping an endearingly curious vigil on the visitors inside. Bust a move with the Dancers statues at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. These impossibly tall fiberglass figures are positioned as if in motion, accompanied by music that is played on the speakers below the statues. With the music pumping 24 hours of the day, it’s not uncommon to find a few groovy visitors dancing to the beat themselves.
