Just south of central Germany sits the town of Nuremburg, which has impressive architecture as well as a range of sights to see and experience. In the city you can find Albrecht Dürer’s House, an impressive building which was the home of the artist during the 1500s. If you hire a car in Nuremburg, you can also take a trip to the city’s zoo, which is home to many different animals including dolphins.
At the city’s Hauptmarkt there are markets virtually every day selling all kinds of goods and souvenirs and it’s also where the huge, and world-famous, Christmas market is held. Take the short walk up to Kaiserberg above the city’s walled Altstadt area and you’ll reach the Kaiserburg castle where the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Emperor were once kept. Today it simply gives great views of the city below. For a museum visit don’t miss the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the country’s most important collection of German cultural exhibits which include both the world's oldest terrestrial globe and the first ever pocket watch.
